Hello Wildcats,
I would like to welcome you all to the fourth grade. My name is Mrs. Whidbee and I will be your Science and Social Studies teacher. I would like to give you a quick run down of what to expect this year. In Science we will focus on: living things; rocks and minerals; electricity and magnetism; and food and nutrition. In Social Studies we will focus on: North Carolina history; the people and the land; the major landforms and regions of North Carolina. Our school district recently adopted a new Social Studies textbook which includes interactive websites and programs for our students.
We spend a great deal of time performing: science experiments, hands on activities, and group work; therefore, cooperation is a MUST! Parents, if you would like to help out in our class please do not hesitate to contact me. We can always use an extra pair of hands. Volunteers are always welcome. Once again, I look forward to working with each of you during this upcoming school year.
